Weird Terrain is a submission-based (print) zine about asexuality, generally written by asexual people. That's the basic description. I would also like to think that this zine can be a means of discussing sexuality and how it is perceived & portrayed in our society from a view point that is at least a little outside of that system. I believe that asexuality contradicts a lot of beliefs that many people have about sexuality and relationships, & so I feel that a compilation of writings from asexual people could be beneficial & interesting. I also think that it's important to get asexual peoples' voices out there, especially since there's so little known about asexuality. Articles are being written about asexuality, & scientific research about asexuality is just beginning - as the frequency of these things increase (which can be really awesome & beneficial for visibility!), it becomes more important for asexual people to have another venue in which to speak for themselves. I also like zines - zines can be lots of fun. And I strongly feel that it's important to have some sort of documentation on paper & not completely on the internet.
My aim is to (eventually) publish this zine quarterly - but of course, that all depends on my schedule throughout the year & the submissions I get. If you'd like to submit something, get in touch!
